Ko Hsin Hu, M.D., Ph.D.

Ko Hsin (Phil) Hu, M.D., Ph.D., felt fortunate to be able to simultaneously study western medicine and Chinese medicine while in medical school, and was able to pass the medical board exams for both. Ten years prior while training for his otorhinolaryngology specialization, he focused on western otorhinolaryngology practice, including surgical procedures.

After years of clinical experience and attendance at countless international symposiums, he began to feel that some illnesses just cannot be remediated via conventional western medicine alone. When Dr. Hu recalled that there was also a great deal of documentation on otorhinolaryngology, he started further studies and received a masters in Chinese traditional medicine, and a Ph.D. in Chinese otorhinolaryngology.

In clinical practice, Dr. Hu has combined western medicine with traditional Chinese medicine to treat patients and continues to research the outcomes. He believes that more alternative methods to treat patients can be beneficial, especially for vertigo and dysequilibrium patients. By using combined methods, there have been surprising results to problems which modern medicine alone cannot remedy.

Dr. Hu is currently teaching Chinese traditional Otorhinolaryngology in medical school, and is very willing to share the clinical and research experiences he has had over the years.
